1999 TeamSpeak Established
It all started in 1999 as a personal project for a group of friends who met each other playing an online game. At the time, the available voice communication applications lacked cross-platform compatibility, were plagued with router and firewall issues, and relied heavily on bandwidth and system resource utilization. Knowing we could do better, we set out on a mission to develop a solution of our own – a high quality, lightweight, full-featured alternative now known as TeamSpeak.
2001 First Release
In 2001, the first public version of TeamSpeak was released. We achieved our goals and did what we set out to do. Our software was not limited to a single platform, needed less bandwidth than other applications, and required minimal firewall and bandwidth usage. All with a user-friendly interface. TeamSpeak was quickly spreading across the Internet, far surpassing expectations. The overwhelming feedback from the community motivated us to continue our development efforts with TeamSpeak.
Today
Today we’re continuing to build on past achievements with continuous optimization of our product, as well as implementation of features and functionality unsurpassed in the industry today. TeamSpeak is among the most recognized and successful brands in the VoIP industry and is utilized in a wide spectrum of applications, from online gaming to business communications to education and training.
